About Nara

Located south of Kyoto, Nara is almost at the geographic center of Japan. In the Nara era, approximately 1300 years ago, Nara was the capital of Japan. Because of this, Nara has many old buildings. Every year many tourists visit Nara to see its famous sights like Todaiji, the Great Buddah of Nara, and Nara Park with its many deer. Horyuji, which was built in the beginning of the 7th century, is the oldest wooden structure in the world. Nara prefecture's mascot is Sento-kun, a boy with deer antlers growing from his head.

Thanks. This is a nice convenient format for engaging with a text on multiple levels. Do you know of any websites with more of things like this (other than NHK Easy)? Thanks.

We are not aware of any website that does this kind of thing. But we'd love to hear about them if you find any.
